Vanessa Boal’s garden design studio is based near Sherborne in Dorset. Our garden design practice has been established since 2017. We carry out garden design projects throughout Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Vanessa graduated with Distinction in her Garden Design degree and then went on to be awarded a two year trainee-ship followed by 3 years employment at the National Trust Garden – Nymans where she gained an in-depth knowledge and understanding of plants. Before returning to her home county of Dorset, Vanessa co founded a successful garden design partnership with Bo Cook in Sussex and spent time freelancing for award winning garden designers Acres Wild and Nigel Philips.

Vanessa’s design led landscaping designs are sympathetic to existing vistas and architecture resulting in them feeling immediately embedded in their surroundings. Her planting schemes create contrast, texture and movement ensuring interest throughout the year. Hard landscaping elements within her designs create shape and flow whilst also cleverly fulfilling any requirement for more practical elements of the garden’s functionality.
